A steam locomotive will pass this Thursday on the Ribblehead viaduct

Class 40 No. 40145 and a Carnforth-based locomotive will this week’s York – Carlisle ‘Dalesman’ railtour on Thursday July 14.

From York the train will pass through Church Fenton (08:37), Normanton (09:24), Wakefield Kirkgate (09:31) Wakefield Westgate (09:39), Leeds (09:58), Shipley (10:47), Keighley (10:58), Skipton (11:14) and Hellifield (11:31 a.m. – vapor transported from here), Ribblehead (12:42 p.m.), Appleby (1:19 p.m.) and Carlisle at 2:11 p.m.

After passing through Carlisle, the train, still hauled by the steam locomotive, will leave at 4:27 p.m. The train will pass through Appleby (5:16 p.m.), Garsdale (5:58 p.m.), Hellifield (6:34 p.m. – diesel transported from here), Skipton (19:51), Keighley (20:09), Shipley (20:26), Leeds (20:44), Wakefield Westgate (21:12), Normanton (21:22), Church Fenton (21: 56) and York at 10:24 p.m.
