A steam locomotive will pass through Skipton this Sunday
British India Line steam locomotive 35018 will return to main line steam and will be at Skipton and Ribblehead on Sunday 8th August 2021.
35018 British India Line hauls the Waverley on Sunday.
The train tour departs York with British India Line at 09.44am bound for Carlisle, where it will pass through Church Fenton (10.01am), Micklefield (10.10am) and Cross Gates (10.21am) before stopping in Leeds (10.01am). :30). From here the train will pass through Shipley (11.02am), Keighley (11.16am) before another stop at Skipton (11.34am).
From there the train will head to Hellifield Goods Loop, passing through Gargrave at 11.42am. After stopping at Hellifield, the locomotive will travel up the Settle and Carlisle line and pass through Ribblehead (1.16pm), Garsdale (1.30pm) and Appleby at 1.52pm before stopping at Langwathby at 2.10pm.
From Langwathby, leaving at 2.20pm, the locomotive will pass through Lazonby Kirkoswald (2.03pm) before arriving in Carlisle at 2.24pm.
After approximately 3 hours in Carlisle, British India Line will depart Carlisle at 5.34pm bound for York. It will pass through Lazonby & Kirkoswald (5.59pm) and stop for water at Appleby (6.21pm).
Continuing on the Settle and Carlisle line, the British India Line will pass over the Ribblehead Viaduct at approximately 7:14 p.m., continuing to Settle, the train leaves the Settle and Carlisle line at Settle Junction (7:27 p.m.) where it proceeds to Hellifield, where he will arrive at 7:33 p.m.
After leaving Hellifield, the train will make stops at Skipton (10.01am), Keighley (8.16pm) and Shipley (8.28pm) before arriving in Leeds at 8.50pm.
From Leeds, the train will make the short hop to York via Cross Gates (8.59pm), Micklefield (9.06pm) and Church Fenton (9.12pm)
The railtour will return to its final destination of York at 9.26pm.
