A steam locomotive will visit Newton Abbot this Saturday

70000 Britannia or 34046 Braunton are expected to carry part of the English Riviera Express this Saturday July 16, 2022.

The tour starts at Cardiff Central with a diesel locomotive. Departs Cardiff Central at 06.30am and will travel via Newport (06.50am), Severn Tunnel Junction (07.13am), Patchway (07.30am), Filton Abbey Wood (07.37am), Bath Spa (08.02am), Bradford-on-Avon (08.21am), Westbury ( 8:39 a.m., Taunton (9:34 a.m.) and Norton Fitzwarren at 10:10 a.m.

Here, the steam locomotive takes over from the train. Departing Norton Fitzwarren at 10.59am, the train will continue via Tiverton Parkway (11.15am), Exeter St Davids (11.35am), Dawlish Warren (11.52am), Paignton (12.32pm) and Kingswear at 1.15pm.

After the hour at Kingswear, the train will depart at 4.35pm passing through Paignton (5.21pm), Newton Abbot (5.41pm), Dawlish (5.51pm), Exeter St Davids (6.17pm), Norton Fitzwarren (6.52pm – diesel hauled from here Taunton), Taunton (7:19 p.m.), Castle Cary (7:49 p.m.), Westbury (8:14 p.m.), Bradford-on-Avon (8:31 p.m.), Bath Spa (8:58 p.m.), Patchway (9:21 p.m.), Severn Tunnel Junction (9:35 p.m.), Newport (9:57 p.m.) and Cardiff Central at 10.15pm.
