Class 40 and Scots Guardsman steam locomotive 46115 will haul the Chester – Carlisle tour this Tuesday

Class 40 No 40145 and 46115 Scots Guardsman will operate this week’s Chester – Carlisle ‘Dalesman’ train tour on Tuesday 5th July.

Departing Chester at 07:32, the tour, carried by 40145, will pass through Helsby (07:42), Frodsham (07:46), Runcorn East (07:57), Warrington Bank Quay (08:03), Wigan North Western (08:28), Leyland (08:48) , Preston (09:05), Blackburn (09:39), Clitheroe (10:07), Hellifield (10:26 – vapor transported from here), Ribblehead (11:24 a.m.), Appleby (12:00 p.m.) and Carlisle at 12:52 p.m.

After passing through Carlisle, the train, still hauled by 46115, will leave at 3:08 p.m. The train will pass through Oxenholme Lake District (4.32pm) and Carnforth South Junction at 4.49pm.

From there, 40145 takes the train back. Departing at 5.44pm, the train will pass through Lancaster (5.52pm), Preston (6.14pm), Leyland (6.37pm), Wigan North Western (6.51pm), Warrington Bank Quay (7.09pm), Frodsham (7.23pm) and Chester at 7.47pm.
