Fire in two cars of Saharanpur-Delhi passenger train

Uttar Pradesh: A fire broke out in the engine and two compartments of a train from Saharanpur to Delhi at Daurala station near Meerut on Saturday. According to railway officials, the fire occurred due to a short circuit, but no injuries/victims were reported.

The train had reached Daurala station at 7:10 a.m. After the fire broke out in the cars, the passengers started to get out of the other car. However, the fire had fully spread to the car. Subsequently, firefighters arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire.

Due to the train fire, the service was affected in the Delhi-Meerut. In the morning, many major trains go to Dehradun and Delhi via Meerut. like the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi express which stopped at Meerut city railway station. Also, the Shalimar Express train was stopped near Skauti station. Meanwhile, Nauchandi Express running from Prayagraj to Meerut and Saharanpur was also stopped at the city’s railway station. Apart from this, many other trains were also stopped at Muzaffarnagar Khatauli station.

Shatabdi Express running between Delhi and Dehradun had to stand for one hour 43 minutes at the city’s railway station. After that, Shatabdi Express has now been diverted to Dehradun. Train operation from Meerut to Muzaffarnagar started at 10:30 am. However, the operation of trains from Muzaffarnagar to Meerut has not yet started.
