Passenger train derails near Dudhsagar in Goa

The train left Vasco-Da-Gama at 6:30 a.m. and passed Dudhsagar at 8:50 a.m., according to an official statement from the railways.

The full rake of the train is unaffected and is supported towards Dudhsagar by ART (Accident Relief Train). Senior officers are monitoring the situation closely.

According to authorities, the accident rescue train (ART) and the medical equipment van left Castle rock at 9:45 a.m. and reached the location at 10:35 a.m.

Divisional Director of Railways (DRM) Hubballi Arvind Malkhede along with the divisional team of senior officers rushed to the scene by the accident relief self-propelled train which left Hubballi at 9.50am.

Officials said water and light refreshments had been provided for all passengers.

Senior officers led by Sanjeev Kishore, Managing Director, PK Mishra, Additional Managing Director, SPS Gupta Principal Chief Engineer, Alok Tiwari, Principal Security Officer and Principal Heads of Departments are monitoring the situation closely.

The pantry cars of train No. 12780 Goa express and train No. 11098 Ernakulam-Pune Express will arrange food and snacks for passengers, officials said.
