SacRT light rail service disrupted due to police activity

Sacramento Regional Transit said part of its transit service in the South Sacramento area was temporarily halted after a fight on a light rail. SacRT said the fight happened aboard a light rail train between three people, two of whom may be minors, near Gare de Florin. SacRT said the scuffle occurred on board a light rail train between three people, two of whom may have been minors, near Florin station. One of those involved has been sent to hospital but is expected to survive his injuries.

A SacRT spokesperson said the person’s injury “appears to be from a gunshot wound; however, it is still under investigation.”

A bus bridge was in place on the blue line between Florin and Cosumnes River College stations while police are present.

The train was heading towards Florin station when the scuffle occurred, SacRT said.

It is not known what caused the fight, nor is it known if anyone has been detained or arrested in connection with the fight or a possible shooting.
