Dallas Area Rapid Transit will operate shuttles instead of light rail vehicles at select stations due to scheduled system maintenance and repairs in and around the CityPlace/Uptown Station tunnel.

DART will operate shuttles instead of light rail vehicles between Pearl/Arts District station and Southern Methodist University/Mockingbird station June 9-12, and between SMU/Mockingbird station and Walnut Hill station June 23-26, a stated press release.

Regular light rail service will resume on Monday morning after each service event, according to DART officials.

These maintenance and repair measures are part of DART’s State of Good Repair program, which ensures the light rail system is able to “operate at peak performance,” the statement said. DART will replace a faulty transformer in the tunnel, carry out concrete repairs to the elevated station at Park Lane station, and replace a section of rail north of SMU/Mockingbird station.

The shuttles will be operated by a third-party charter bus company and will not be branded DART, according to the statement. Passengers should look for charter buses at the red “railway disruption” bus stop signs near each station to board a shuttle.

From June 9-12, shuttles will replace light rail vehicles between Pearl/Arts District station and SMU/Mockingbird station. Red and Blue line passengers will be transferred to shuttles between Pearl/Arts District station and SMU/Mockingbird station. Orange Line trains will only run between DFW Airport Station and Pearl/Arts District Station. Northbound passengers must board a shuttle at Pearl/Arts District Station to SMU/Mockingbird Station to continue to their destination.
