Steam locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman will visit Carlisle this Sunday
Steam locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman will return to mainline steam and will be at Hellifield and Ribblehead on Sunday 7th August 2022.
46115 pulls the Waverley on Sunday. The train tour departs from York with a diesel engine at 10:25 a.m. bound for Carlisle, where it will pass through Church Fenton (10:37 a.m.), Leeds (10:53 a.m.), Shipley (11:10 a.m.), Keighley (11:20 a.m.), Skipton (11:35 a.m.) and Hellifield at 12:20 p.m.
Here, 46115 Scots Guardsman takes control of the train. Departing at 12.54pm, the train will pass through Ribblehead (1.16pm), Kirkby Stephen (1.40pm), Langwathby (2.10pm) and Carlisle at 2.46pm.
After approximately 3 hours in Carlisle, Leander will depart Carlisle at 5.34pm bound for Hellifield. It will pass through Lazonby & Kirkoswald (5.59pm) and stop for water at Appleby (6.21pm).
Continuing on the Settle and Carlisle line, Leander will pass over the Ribblehead Viaduct at approximately 7:14 p.m., continuing to Settle, the train leaves the Settle and Carlisle line at Settle Junction (7:27 p.m.) where it proceeds to Hellifield, where it will arrive at 7:32 p.m.
The diesel takes over at Hellifield for the race to York, via Skipton (8:02 p.m.), Keighley (8:15 p.m.), Shipley (8:26 p.m.), Leeds (8:48 p.m.) and York at 9:20 p.m.
