Steam locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman will visit Carlisle this Thursday

46115 Scots Guardsman will visit Carlisle this Thursday (26 May 2022) as he transports a section of The Dalesman.

The locomotive will run from Hellifield to Carlisle and back.

The tour will depart York at 08:25 behind a diesel locomotive, before heading to Church Fenton (08:37), Normanton (09:24), Wakefield Kirkgate (09:31), Wakefield Westgate (09:39), Leeds (09:58), Keighley (10:58), Skipton (11:14 a.m.) and Hellifield Goods Loop at 11:31 a.m.

Here the steam locomotive is added to the train, leaving at 12.20pm, the locomotive will head via Ribblehead (12.42pm), Kirkby Stephen (1.06pm), Langwathby (1.33pm) and Carlisle at 2.11pm.

The return journey will see the locomotive leave Carlisle at 4.27pm before heading via Appleby (5.16pm) and Settle Jn (6.28pm), heading for Hellifield at 6.34pm where the steam locomotive leaves the train.

The diesel locomotive will take over from the train, heading for Skipton (7.51pm), Shipley (8.26pm), Leeds (8.44pm), Wakefield Westgate (9.12pm), Normanton (9.22pm), Church Fenton (9.56pm) and finally York at 10.20pm.
