Steam locomotive 70000 Britannia will visit Devon this Saturday

70000 Britannia will be back in action this Saturday (11 June 2022) as it carries the first English Riviera Express of the summer season.

A diesel will transport the first part of the circuit. Departing Solihull at 06.10am, the tour will pass through Dorridge (06.15am), Warwick Parkway (06.29am), Leamington Spa (06.40am), Banbury (07.03am), Oxford (07.40am), Swindon (08.49am), Chippenham (09.16am), Melksham ( 9.31am), Westbury (9.47am), Taunton (10.29am) and Norton Fitzwarren at 10.36am.

Here, 70000 Britannia will be added to the train. Departing Norton Fitzwarren at 10.59am, the train will continue its journey through Tiverton Parkway (11.15am), Exeter St Davids (11.35am), Dawlish Warren (11.52am), Newton Abbot (12.14pm) Paignton (12.32pm) and Kingswear at 1.06pm.

The return journey will leave Kingswear at 4.35pm and will see the train retrace its steps to Solihull, passing through Paignton (5.21pm), Dawlish (5.51pm), Exeter St Davids (6.17pm), Taunton (7.18pm- diesel transported from here), Westbury (8.03pm), Melksham (8.22pm), Chippenham (8.37pm), Swindon (9.04pm), Oxford (9.56pm), Banbury (10.21pm), Leamington Spa (10.43pm), Warwick Parkway (10.53pm), Dorridge (11.09pm), Solihull (11:18 p.m.).
