Steam locomotive 7029 Clun Castle visits York this Saturday

GWR ‘Castle’ No. 7029 ‘Clun Castle’ will be on the mainline this Saturday 9th April 2022 as it carries a Vintage Trains rail tour.

The castle will carry a train ride from Tyseley to York. Note that this tour is now hauled by 7029 Clun Castle (previously partly diesel hauled).

The train will depart from Tyseley Steam Trust at 07.54 and then travel via Coleshill Parkway (08.21), Tamworth (08.41), Burton-on-Trent (09.00), Derby (09.18), Chesterfield (09.58), Swinton (10.44), Moorthorpe ( 11:01 a.m.), Pontefract Baghill (11:08 a.m.), Church Fenton (12:02 p.m.) and York at 12:18 p.m.

After approximately 5 hours in York, 7029 Clun Castle will depart at 5.14pm passing through Church Fenton (5.30pm), Doncaster (6.03pm), Mexborough (6.15pm), Chesterfield (7.16pm), Derby (7.51pm), Burton-on-Trent (8.29pm ), Tamworth (8:58 p.m.), Coleshill Parkway (9:29 p.m.), Water Orton (9:36 p.m.) and Tyseley Steam Trust at 9:58 p.m.
